G spot toys
A category defined by geometry rather than by motor. These toys exist to transmit firm pressure to a specific area of the anterior vaginal wall, which imposes real constraints on curve, rigidity and length.
Before buying anything in this category it is worth reading what the target actually is. As the g spot guide sets out, the area is not a discrete organ but a convergence of the urethral sponge, the internal parts of the clitoris and the nerve rich anterior vaginal wall. All of it engorges with arousal, and all of it responds to pressure rather than to friction. Every design requirement below follows from that.
Firmness is the requirement, not a preference
A soft toy cannot do this job. Pressure applied at the handle has to arrive at the tip, and a flexible shaft absorbs it by bending. This is why toys advertised for the front wall in very soft silicone tend to disappoint: they feel pleasant and deliver almost nothing where it is aimed.
What works is a rigid or firmly cored shaft. Solid silicone over a hard core, ABS, borosilicate glass and stainless steel all transmit pressure properly. Glass and steel add a second property: they hold temperature, so they can be warmed or cooled deliberately, and they are completely rigid, which some people find too unforgiving and others prefer above everything else.
Curve and length
The area sits a few centimetres inside, on the front wall, which means the tip has to change direction. A pronounced curve near the tip, with a straighter shaft behind it, is the standard geometry and it is standard because it works. A gentle even bend along the whole length is less effective, since it distributes force along the wall instead of concentrating it.
Length beyond about twelve to fifteen centimetres of insertable shaft adds nothing for this purpose and makes the angle harder to control. What does help is a handle: something to grip outside the body gives leverage, and leverage is what turns arm movement into pressure at the tip. A toy with no handle has to be gripped at its own shaft, which is awkward and imprecise.
Tip shape matters too. A bulbous or flattened tip spreads force over a slightly larger area and is generally more comfortable than a narrow point, which can feel sharp against the urethra.
Pressure against vibration
This is the distinction most buyers get wrong. Vibration is oscillation applied to the surface. Pressure is sustained force applied through the tissue. The front wall responds primarily to the second.
Vibration is not useless here, but it works as an addition rather than a substitute, and only if it has the character to carry. A high frequency buzzing motor at the tip of a firm toy produces very little of what people are looking for; a lower frequency rumbling motor adds something worthwhile. If a choice has to be made between a firm unpowered toy and a soft powered one, the firm unpowered toy will do this job better.
Motion is where powered designs earn their place. Devices that rock, tap or press rhythmically at the tip mimic the come here motion of fingers and suit this anatomy better than any vibration setting.
How to use one
Arousal first, and more of it than seems necessary. The area is hard to identify and easy to find uncomfortable when unaroused, and straightforward when engorged. Empty the bladder beforehand, since pressure on the urethra produces an initial urge to urinate that is expected rather than a warning.
Insert with the curve pointing towards the front of the body. Find the textured area a few centimetres in. Then apply pressure rather than thrust: press and hold, or rock slowly, or use a slow beckoning motion. Fast in and out movement is the wrong action for this structure entirely.
Adding external stimulation at the same time is the single most reported improvement, and it is consistent with the anatomy, since both are acting on parts of the same engorged system. Many people find this combination is what makes the internal sensation finally register.
Lubricant and cleaning
Use plenty, and use water based lubricant if the toy is silicone, because silicone lubricant chemically swells silicone rubber and permanently damages the surface. Glass and steel tolerate any lubricant, which is one of their quiet advantages. The complete grid is in the compatibility table.
Non porous materials wash properly with warm water and mild unscented soap. Solid glass, steel and silicone with no motor can be boiled if a higher standard is wanted; anything with a motor cannot. See cleaning and storage.
Choosing
Prioritise, in order: firmness, curve near the tip, a usable handle, then any motor. Selections that state shaft rigidity and insertable length rather than only overall size, as the range at inWonderstate does, make the geometry easier to judge before buying.
